Today's Events

Hailstorms.

This hailstorm occurred at 6:10AM. These are pictures from around 6:40AM. It ranged from dime size to a little bit bigger than a quarter. Some areas had ping-pong ball size hail. Hailstorms actually happen a good percentage of the time here whenever the Ill-side has tornadoes. So this would mean that the people in the previously damaged locations have a chance of getting hit again today. Another hail storm just happened at 8:50AM here in St. Louis.

Follow Up

the health care industry.

Just in regards to this post, of course one of my first thoughts would be to go to the pediatrician! Yes, I do have common sense LOL. I just get worrisome and irate when it comes to issues with my daughter. Especially when she is very accident prone. That chil' is going to be the death of me! However, my child's pediatricians and I are not on the same page so I was already in the process of finding different doctors (who aren't mindless a*s) not associated with the last ones. Which just led me back around into a circle for the time being. I do feel much better just by having an appointment set. Even if it is on a waiting list set for weeks from now...

Parental/Hypochondriac Stress

So starting from mid-week I've been bugging out. I've noticed this black dot in the corner of my daughter eye, on the pink flesh part closer to the nose. At first I was just thinking it was a piece of sleep, but I knew I didn't want to pick at it with a wet rag. It would have been difficult to get to anyway because she has baby skin folds around her big round eyes. The next day I didn't notice it because after all it is deep in the corner of her eye, but later on that same day my mother noticed it and had mentioned it to me. I'm sure at that moment I had some sort of strange look on face, because I knew from that point on the situation was going to bother me. But I still thought it was just sleep. The next morning I checked my daughter eye and tried to use a wet clothe to get the sleep out around her eye and to my horror it is still there!

I guess as a way for me not to over react (as I have a tendency to do) I tried to look up (google) some info with the same eye issues. Here's something that came up:

From: Corner Of Eye...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello...a year or two ago, I noticed a small dark brown or black dot in the center of the skin in the corner of my eye. I'm not sure how long it has been there and I just havent noticed, but since then, i forgot about it for a while and a few months ago i looked at it again and it appears as though it may have gotten darker, or maybe I'm just imagining it becuase I hadnt looked at it for a while. It looks similar to a small, dark freckle or tiny mole. Does anybody know what it is???????? THANK YOU.

Re: Corner Of Eye...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a name for it, but I've forgotten what it is. I've had one for 45 years; showed up at age 6 after my tonsillectomy, of all things. I was rubbing my eyes like mad while waiting for my parents to pick me up the next day after surgery and someone looked at my eyes and said there was this "spot" in the corner of my left eye. One doctor said it was just a vein right beneath the skin and could be removed at any time either for purely cosmetic reasons OR if it got bigger and began to block the tear duct(s) at that inside corner.

Here I am, age 54 now, with the same "brown/black spot" in the same place, pretty much unchanged. It has never itched nor hurt. In all my years perhaps two people have actually said anything about it and I doubt many more have even noticed. It has never grown out of proportion to the rest of my features nor has it blocked the tear duct.

My opthalmologist recently said he'd be happy to remove it (yeah, sure he would!) but there is no need. It's entirely up to you unless you actually have a problem from the spot or just decide you don't want it there.

**[Now 3 Seconds Later Re-Insert Stress HERE]**

I know you can't believe everything on the internet. So now I have to search for the right opthalmologist, not just any ol' doctor. I do wonder if it did happen from her being a cry baby and rubbing her eyes often and too hard. I need to know what this dot thingy is called and if there's any special care for it. Plus, it seems like after the fact that I rubbed it with the wet clothe, or after my mother commented on it, it has gotten slightly bigger.

On top of that, since Wednesday both me and my daughter have been sick with sore throats and runny noses. Today it has turned mucousy with pressure in my head. Everytime I blow my nose or yawn my ears pop. Since the ears, throat, nose are all connected I just pray it doesn't turn into an ear infection for her.

What Ashame

I am HIGHLY disturbed right now folks. I just witnessed a dude beating on a female in a car right across the street from my home! Then he started fighting her outside of the car! I didn't know what was going on til my lil Sis came and got me while I was in the middle of blogging for today because she saw it first. We didn't know that it was a female in the car until they got out. I called the police.... Three police cars showed up. I didn't see the guy get put in a police car afterwards, so the teen girl must've not pressed charges. I'm feeling bewildered and defeated for what was the right thing to do. The guy was punching her in the face so hard that her head hit onto the roof of the car when they were outside of it. I even had tried going to my next door neighbor house and they didn't answer the door. I don't understand how people see certain things and not act on it, do the right thing. I don't go for that type stuff, AT ALL. I still don't support Chris Brown and never bought one his albums before, and even Rihanna has moved on and I guess forgiven him at this point. Young ladies and women in general,  if you get into that type of situation make sure you press charges so the police can take his ass to jail! When you don't follow through on protecting yourself, it makes it harder for the police to do their job. And you will not be taken so seriously the next time you really need help. Police talk about what a shame it is all of the time, to let a "less than a man" get away with doing wrong.  How do people get to the point where they let someone completely break them as a human being? :-/

I will be posting what I originally was going to blog about tomorrow.

The Horror At The Market!

Nothing beats a great trip to your local farmers market! Unfortunately, I had a camera malfunction so I personally couldn't take any photos. It's quite a drive from where I live, but it is still located in St. Louis, MO. Soulard Farmer's Market is the oldest market in St. Louis. It's origins date back to 1779! It was started by Antoine Soulard and his wife Julia Soulard. Julia had acquired the deed to the piece of land on which the market still sits today. Officially in 1841, Julia had two city blocks for two main buildings.

Okay so now that we got some brief history out of the way..

I decided to do a little Thanksgiving Day shopping yesterday morning. I was passing by a butcher shop in one of the outdoor wings of stands. I didn't really get a chance to catch the company name of this particular shop because I was too preoccupied with staring in shock and amazement at their items. I was looking at freshly killed (probably like that same morning type of fresh) and skinned opossum, muskrats, and beaver! The beaver still had it's tail attached and the skin was still on it! Then they had live white ducks and chickens just waiting around in cages off to the side of the counter. My sister was completely grossed out. I was not completely grossed out, I more was like entranced sort of.. I don't know, sometimes I can be quite morbid. Or maybe it somewhat had an affect on me. Hence, I'm typing this now to get it out of my brain and unleashing it onto you. LOL it was probably best that my camera was out of commission at that moment! I just never ever saw those animals in person before, sad they had to be already dead. As I was pointing at the sign that said what type animals they were a women came over with her friend and actually was like, "Hmmm, opossum! That's right up my alley with a little gravy!" The realization of it being food.. for people. That's when I was just done. Her friend was just as turned off by it.

Feelings And Caffeine = Insomniac Mess

Le Cafe tote bag at Etsy Shop Apseed
Apparently, strong emotions and drinking coffee doesn't mix well with me! I'm already an night owl and I finally went to sleep around 1AM, until my body decided to still wake up right before 3:30AM. It was clear that I wasn't going back to sleep no matter how hard I tried to fake sleep my way back into dreamland. I did what any normal person would do, go fix themself a warm drink. It just happened to be coffee. Well, okay, it wasn't a coincidence that the drink was coffee because I love it! I'm an admitted coffee fiend.

I hadn't had a strong cup in a really long time either. By the time it was 6:45AM I was like this:

Even though I felt like this at the same time:

I kind of wanted to do this to someone in particular :

Or even do this:

(Sigh) I need some serious tension release. Looks like I have no other choice but to rock out!

History Repeats Itself

Now I kind of feel compelled to do a little blogging about life in the 1940's era. Yes, when something interest me I get into librarian mode LOL. I just have to get as much information as possible soaked into my brain! I usually like the 1950's era for the unattainable ideal perfect American lifestyle. I only say "unattainable" because there is no perfect family, but there is an American lifestyle. I like the 1960's era full of the civil movements that furthered progression of African Americans. Also, can't forget about space explorations! I even like the free Indian hippies spirit of the 1970's, which is still reflected in today's form of most indie music bands. It seems though, that the present day had somewhat rotated toward the 1940's. With us being in hard times, people are trying to be smarter with their money.  History always repeats itself in some form, even though, we're supposed to learn from our mistakes. The saying, "You can't understand your future without first understanding your past." is so true.

On Cloud No. 9

My head is so in the clouds. I've been on cloud number nine since last night and ALL day today. Just one of those days that no one can get to me and break my chi. Have you ever had just complete peace? Oh, the thrills of being care-free and reconciled. Feels like a breath of fresh air. So since I'm in a good mood, I thought I'd post some beautiful photograghy.
